Gas Struts for Trunk Lid
I recently finished upholstering the trunk on my 1930 Ford Roadster (Brookville). I am thinking about using a gas strut to raise the trunk lid. However, I don't know what length to use.
A friend told me to select any size, then measure where the location would be with it fully opened and fully closed. Can anyone give me a starting point as far as the length and where I can buy one?
The trunk lid doesn't weigh that much, but I wanted to replace the standard arm that is currently holding it.
Thanks in advance!
Saw this posted on FB, and thought of posting it on the Joke Page as a Model A Donk, but then thought it's not a joke, it's cool!! -
