Hello everyone. I finally got a chance to set the body on my frame so that I could locate the brake pedal, brake booster/master cylinder. I removed the original seat and noticed the springs and seat frame are in excellent condition. Will the original seat give a good comfortable ride, or is it best to use a late model bucket seat? Also, should I cut the tray behind the seat down for more leg room. Thanks in advance.

I ran a stock seat base and seat springs in a Deuce many years ago. My upholstery guy did some rebuilding on it, worked great. Cutting down the package tray does help with the leg room. As you have the original seat, absolutely no reason to go looking for buckets. The original all done up in nice upholstery looks and rides great!!!!
Dave. Thanks for the reply. I found a previous post on seats that had suggestions on mini van and Pontiac Fiero seats. I may look at these before I get to the upholstery stage. I also noticed Sir Speedy recommended a metal frame and spring style seat as you did. The only thing I don't like on the original seat frame is the shape of the steel side plate that is so noticeable when the doors are opened. I may change these up just a little and hope it doesn't detract from the nostalgia look of the interior too much. Comfort is top priority here. My back is just giving me all kinds of problems, so I must have a comfortable riding car so that I can take that granddaughter riding in papa's hotrod. She just turned five and is beginning to figure out what the hotrod is. The frame and chassis with no body or fenders had her confused! Happy rodding everyone!
