Wow! over 100 replies to my little tire riddle? It was funny to see the thread turn into the "war of the tires" ... I still am not done reading all the replies...

But I wanted to clarify a few things:

there are three reasons why I will be putting bias on my hotrod:

1- Because I HAVE TO for the movie (see below)
2- Because this is also the direction I am going with this hotrod. Being probably the ONLY radial hotrod in the Suede Palace at the GNRS made it painfully obvious that my poor little hiboy looks like the retarded cousin with his radial tires. It is just the wrong look for this car.
3- Because I want to try it. Worry not I am saving my other wheels and radials so it is not like I am STUCK with bias plys for the rest of eternity! I am not going to MARRY the tires, just going to bolt them on my car . At least for the movie, and maybe for good.

I am well aware they will not handle as well, but it might not affect me as much as some of you guys, since a)- I do not drive at top speed b)- I avoid freeways like the pest and c)- it hardly EVER rains around here. d)- my car is only 2200 lbs.

MOVIE? What movie, you ask...

YES I HAVE SET OUT TO FILM A FULL FEATURE MOVIE. That's why I have been so busy and not posting much lately. Some of the scenes do take place in 1955 and my hiboy is in there, so I need bias plys tires, and to remove my Dan Fink windshield and to keep my hood on tight (to hide my 350 engine ). After which I will be able to almost pass as a 1955 hotrod, especially since my steering wheel is circa 1954. Hopefully noone will look TOO closely at other details, but it seems the Dan Fink windshield and radials were the two most noticeable non 1955 items. So they have to go while I film. I am sure bolting the windshiled on and off each time I shoot is going to be a royal pain but a necessary evil... I figured that rather than trying to put another stock windshield on (spending money and probably having to redrill my body) it was just easier to remove the windshield completely.

I was trying to keep the movie project low profile but by now everyone in the LA scene is already talking about it and the news is spreading faster than small pox so you guys might as well hear it from me. So there you have it. I have gone mad and I am making a movie that is going to ROCK your world (hopefully) . Filming has already begun. And it might be a good year before it is done (at least).
