I love flames on everything I have 2 cars that are flamed and my truck I am building will also have flames. Again as many have said some like flames some dont.
I am not a big fan of 'fire" unless done right and not on the entire car or entire front end
I like most flames if done tastefully. Especially like the flames on Andy Brizios purple 32 roadster and also like the flame licks painted down the beltlines. Can't recall the guy's name but he had several 33/34 cars with the licks. They were very popular about 4 years ago. As for the fire type flames, they are popular near where I live and can be seen on a number of 1950's cars.
There was a car at the NSRA Nats in Louisville in 2002 that was flamed all over in multicolors layered. My opinion it was too gaudy. Here is one that I saw at the Tampa NSRA show back in October. Busy, but nicely done.
Trucks can have flames too...

The flames I posted are not my work.
As I said, I haven't had many requests for truefire/real fire". These are ideas I've found and put away for inspiration.
If you click on the "camera symbol", for my picture gallery, there are some '32s I've done in more traditional flames (with a twist).
Hi Bob, Josh Elliason the owner of www.JEIllusions.com in Eugene OR is doing my roadster. He's been doing this type of work over 15 years and he mostly does high end motorcycles. I've been searching for the right guy to do mine without having to trailer my vehicle 500 plus miles. Maybe next year I will see you at the Good Guys show in Puyallop...my 30 BBC roadster will be like no one elses you have ever seen. So many one off parts and things custom done while I've been trying to think out of the box and still be tastefully done with everything fitting the same theme. **)Quote:
