Roger, I started to send you an email with the news, but I knew you would see it here, now it's your turn to get started!!! I talked to Duane again last Monday before ordering the chassis, even though he likes to do it that way (attach the body with the floor already on your chassis), it isn't absolutely necessary. Since Duane is 1000 miles away, I don't plan on making several trips back and forth to Arkansas just to fit the body to my chassis. I'm working with a very reputable builder here in Tampa that has the skills to form every piece of his '34 & '37 bodies for the Woodies he builds so I am confident he can guide me thru the entire build process.

One of the details I failed to remember when we ordered the chassis was whether or not to get a Posi unit with the rear end. I've been debating all weekend if I should call TCI to get the Posi included, what do you think???

If your TCI package includes gears then I would probably go with the posi option unless they price it out of range. You can pick up a third member for about $100 (according to Duane @ N&N) later if you want to wait, but having it done from the start is a plus.

Definitely get the posi, and I would recommend the Detroit True-Track. It is what I run, and it does not have some of the negative aspects of a posi rear end. I like mine a lot.

Lynn, I got it ordered today. Also, I was looking at pics of your '32, what size are the wheels (diameter & width) and tires? I sent you a Private Message.

Received great news today, I got a call telling me the chassis is finished and ready to be shipped. This is much quicker than I expected, I placed the order exactly 2 weeks ago, I was originally told it would take between 3-4 weeks. I'm guessing it will take about a week to make it's way from Ca to FL. I'm excited like a kid at Christmas waiting on Santa to arrive!!:D

Congrats, Mike. I know the feeling!

Good luck with the build and have fun while doing it. Try to not get frustrated.
These cars are fun the people are fun. Build it the way you want and what you can afford. Dont worry about others they dont have to drive it or pay for it.
There are MANY nice cars out there some glass some steel. If you go to a show or cruise you will alwya find one nicer. Dont try and keep up with the them.
I think you will be happy with your N&N I was. I had fun with it and was able to sell it for good money. If you ever get to the point of selling.It was not quick to sell but if you wait you will find someone to buy if you build it correctly

Latest update, the chassis has arrived and is in the garage, now the fun begins. One of the first things I did was swap out a residual valve TCI installed wrong, they used a blue 2lb valve for the rear drum brakes. Cecil was nice enough to give me the proper 10lb valve off his shelf. He was also nice enough to deliver the rear end assembly to my house on his way home from his shop.

When I was building my deuce, I was getting a lot of parts via UPS. One day my wife signed for one of my orders and the UPS lady asked what all the deliveries were for. When my wife told her she replied, "Hm, I've never knew you could buy a car one piece at a time." LOL!

I used a bunch of TCI parts and pieces when building both of my 32 Ford frames.

CONGRATULATIONS on getting your chassis. Just remember that this is a HOBBY and not a job.
Take the problem solving in easy strides and do not let the problems bum or burn you out.

I think you are choosing good parts. I used there chassis in my red car, but modified it a little. One thing I did was lower the back of the car. If you look at the rear cross member where the coil overs mount you can see how I raised it. Just a suggestion if you aren't happy with the ride height when you put your body on.

A game plan is #1 priority. Last thing you want is a "confused" looking build.

Mine has a TCI under it. Pretty happy w/ it. If I was doing it over- I'd probably do the one from So-Cal instead.
Oh- and stuff a Hemi in it. :p
