Which hood hinge/latch system to use on a Deuce?
It's time to get the hood hinge/latch system for the Deuce project. I'll be using a Rootlieb 3-piece hood (a single top and 25 louver side panels) and a Brookville grille shell. I suppose a dual opening hinge system would be the best. In your opinions, which hinge system is the best to use, Fink, Hagen, Carolina Customs???

I used the Hagen on my "three piece hood" car, and I would not do it again.

All 3 are a PITA.
Have had the best luck with Carolina.
The trick is to not have the engine in the chassis, so you can do the fitting and alignment from the inside. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

Mike I had the Hagen on at first and was not pleased with it.I switched to the Carolina dual lift (ease in repairs etc.) and like it a lot. With the Carolina you have a choice of running no hood side panels,no hood top and easy to remove side and top for that true rod look.
I needed one hinge bracket to be a bit longer than their kit and they made me one free of charge EL Pronto and shipped it Fed Ex in 1 week. I was sold.
Plan on (as was stated earlier) at least 40 hours to get it right.

I looked at all of the systems before choosing the Tri-C hinge/latch unit which opens the hood from the front rather than the side. It is a very well thought out and engineered unit.

I've got Hagen's. It was on the car when I bought it. I'm not happy with it. When I called Hagen to get installation and adjustment instructions they wouldn't help.

Thanks to all for your replies!! I was told by two good sources that Carolina Customs was the best, but they were also dealers for CC. I wanted to hear from those of you that have used them, now I feel more comfortable with the choice.
Thanks again,
Mike
