Nice! It is interesting to see a deuce that does not have a 3 or 4 inch chopped top. It's good to be different. Congrats!
Thank you everyone. My Dad and I never liked the look of chopped Coupes. Besides, we are Irishman, so we have big heads, and we need all the room we can get.
Here's some more pics after we brought it home, and my Dad wiped it down for some pictures in his garage. I'm so happy Ed was able to modify those Sanderson Jaysters. It's hard to tell by looking, but he told me those are 6 pieces to make those curves. I will get them re-coated when it's time. We also think we have our tire size figured out for the back. We are going with a 31x12.5x15. I think the 16" wide tires will be too much. I just sold my 29x12.5x15 to someone today, so that's almost one tire covered.

We received the tires today, and they look great! I took off my brother's wheels/tires yesterday, and finally have the rim size we need to give it the look we like. I just reversed the snow tires/rims from my Crown Victoria, to keep on the car to roll it in and out. LOL Here's our new tires. Hoosier Pro Streets 31x12.5x15 for the rear, and 26x7.5x15 for the front.

I'm hoping Early Wheel can make a reverse 15x10 with a 2" backspace. Their site lists it can do it with 2.5", but I sent Jason an email to see if it can be at 2". This will give us that "look" we like, with the new rubber.
Looks sweet Pat,,but just wondering why not go with "stickier" rear rubber with all that motor power.
Those are some big boy tires!
I've always had drag radials on my 66 Fairlane, but with the Coupe and no fenders, I decided to go more with pro street type tires. I remember the sound of the rocks hitting the inside of the fenders at the shows, tracks, dirt roads, etc. and no sense throwing that around in the Coupe. It's a 99% street car anyway, so it will keep me out of trouble with the temptation of any light to light business. :3dSMILE: I'm sure I'll run another set of rims/drag radials for some track time, but not just now. Also, if we get caught in the rain on the long trips, it will do a little better than the sticky tire. My Fairlane was brutal in the rain, and the little Coupe woud be worse. **)
NICE! Shiny already! What did you use for paint?
Salute to American Graffeti is this next weekend here in Petaluma. Looking foward to it once again!
Good choice of color. Of course, I am a bit partial to yellow on deuce coupes.
To get this thread back on track, I have some new pictures. I had a bunch of parts come in this week, so here you go.
The Coupe finally has eyes. That's my Dad in the background, reading a Speedway catalog. :3dSMILE:

Making holes for the 5" Auto Meter Speedometer and Tach. I had to drill a bunch of holes with a drill, and then use the bit like a router. The holes are still slightly smaller than the gauges, so when I smooth them out with my Dremel, they will slide right in. I forgot to bring my Dremel to finish it off, so I will post again tomorrow when I'm all done. I have a hole saw for the 2 5/8 gauges, and a unibit for the other switches and bulbs for the dash.

After I make all the holes, I'm going to paint it, and than re-install everything and wire it. I'm going to have a plug in harness for all of it, so I can unplug and remove the dash when I have to. What a beautiful day to be working on the car today.
Looking good and I like the headlight stance.
