Lookin great Pat
Thanks so much guys. I hope to get back in the garage tomorrow. I just had the first part of a root canal done today so it hurts like hell. Been bothering me since Dad and I put the body on last Saturday. Stubborn Irishman finally went to Dentist on Wednesday and he referred me to an Endodontist to save the tooth.
HMmmmm.. I cannot click "Like" when someones having a root canal!
I'd rather say something like the scenes in Monty Pythons "Holy Grail"..
RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!
Man Pat, it looks awesome! Keep up the great work!
Sorry I haven't updated in awhile, but I had nothing going on until last week when my Mom and Dad came back down to Maryland for a week. Dad and I made some great progress on the Coupe. I'll tell you what, wet sanding erases a multitude of clearcoat sins. LOL We wet sanded and buffed for the first 3 days Dad was here and the paint is looking much better than I expected. I still have a few more areas to work on after I pushed it out of the garage and into the sun last Saturday, before Dad left. Mom is doing great and thank you for those who asked and prayed for her. She worked on the inside of my house adding those touches only a woman can do, while Dad and I were in the garage everyday. I was able to take a few days off work too, to take advantage of him being here. We were both a nervous wreck wet sanding and not going into the blue. I hit a couple edges, but I can fix that with touch up paint I saved. We both never did anything like this before. I'm going to be putting in the Dynamat this weekend and start wiring her up. I also have the upper and lower radiator hoses and the single serpentine belt, so hopefully I have the lengths right. The alternator just fit inside the frame rails and I had to cut down the turnbuckle from my old 66 Fairlane deal to make it fit for belt replacement and tightening. We both couldn't stop staring at it until he left. I still have to wet sand and buff the doors and trunk. They are down in my basement, so I will get to them by next weekend. I have to go to Tampa FL for work meetings next week. Our goal is to start it up after Easter then run it over to the interior guy who did my bench seat already. This is our year for sure!!! Here's the pics! The color is Ford Norsea Blue, the same on my Crown Vic in the photos. I love this color and it's Ford!! :D

Lookin' good, and gettin' it done with dad is a long term bonus!
Oh yeah Roger. I'm glad it worked out this way and I didn't get to this point without him. These are a couple of pics of him that I just treasure. I'm going to hang them in my office at work.

Here's one where I was running to the trunk after hitting the timer on the camera for a picture of us wet sanding. Took longer than 10 seconds to get in there. LOL I tripped over some boxes on the first try. haha Dad turned 77 this January and he's still non-stop and strong.

Excellent update and great pictures. What grit were you using to wet sand?
Looks GREAT Pat!! The season will be starting soon and I'll see your Dad at the local shows and he's gonna tell me all about the car! Can't wait! I'm looking forward to seeing both of you at some show up here this summer!
Not sure what I can add that hasn't already been said. Just awesome that you get to do it all sharing time with your Dad.
It's looking good too.
I'm way behind on pictures and updates, but I've been plugging along since my last post. Thanks for all the likes and replies. I have a youtube vid to post of the first startup last Saturday when Dad came down from Jersey. It ran much better on Sunday when I bumped the timing to 18 initial and set the idle mixture to the highest vacuum on the QuickFuel carb. This thing is just nasty. LOL I will be driving around next weekend for sure. I ordered the wrong plug wires, so I had some old ones laying around to get it running. I have a box of goodies from Summit racing to get it better this weekend. Here's a little teaser. I must have watched it a 100 times. I can't believe I never ordered a throttle cable or I would have taken it around the block. :whacked:

It sounds ( and looks) GREAT!
Way cool! Congrats Pat ( and to your Dad also)
Way cool, I can't wait for that day on mine.
Very cool. Nice sound and love the headlight combo light!
AHH! Music to our ears Pat!! Its coming together Great!
It looks and sounds awesome! Great job!
Sounds great. It's going to be exciting to drive!
Thank you everyone for the kinds words and likes. I can't believe it's been 3 months since my last post, but I made some great progress. Two weeks ago, Dad and I took the maiden voyage and she runs great! I can't believe how quick this thing is. I put it on the scales at a place down from my job, and it's 2800lbs with a half tank of gas (10 gallons). All that's left is the interior, which I will have done over the winter, when the guy who did the seat gets slow. I still have some more work on the clearcoat, mostly buffing out some spots I missed and a couple runs to smooth out. It looks good in the pictures, but I'm my worst critic. I think I watch too much TV car shows where they are perfect. Anyway, I can't tell you how happy I am to finally have it driveable for my Dad. I'm going to take it to South Carolina to see my brother over Labor Day, up to Dad's two weeks after that, and then I will keep it in his garage when he comes back from a trip with Mom early October. Thanks again to Ed and Chris at New Age Motorsports for a beautiful template and excellent support!!!
I only had the seat done. It's in heather gray tweed and gray vinyl. The rest of the inside will be the same theme. I like the old school vinyl/tweed mix.

I found some LED license plate bolts, which have a threaded shaft and nut to hold the plate on. The B&M Quicksilver shifter has a micro switch for reverse lights, so maybe I have the only 32 Ford with reverse lights. haha The lighted LED above the plate comes on with the parking lights for the plate. The 50's Pontiac LED tail lights are nice and bright.

:cool:Nice ;)
Congratulations to you both on an another fine rod tearing up the black top. Sounds oh so fine too and brought a nice smile to hear the rear tyres squeal going down the road.
Beautiful Pat, just beautiful!
Looks and sounds GREAT!!! Hope to see you guys at windward!
Thank you everyone! I really appreciate it. This week, I'm going to put the wiper motor in, the transmission temp sensor, a courtesy light, flush out the straight water I have in there and put in the 50/50 mix. I ordered some different coil springs for the rear Aldan's, that should be here by Wednesday. I also need to adjust the headlights. All small stuff.
Glen - I hope to see you at Winward Beach in Brick NJ on Sept 16th. That's my 3 day weekend, so I plan to head up to my Dad's that weekend.
Looks great, sounds awesome!
