1932 Ford Coupe Project Thread

Okay, I'm going to start my 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe project here, so here we go. I dropped off the engine and trans to Ed and Chris at New Age Motorsports in Connecticut yesterday, with my Dad and brothers, so we are getting close. Enjoy the pics! If anyone is considering a glass body and chassis, these are the guys you want to buy from. They take so much time with you as a customer and friend. I give them two thumbs up!!!


We delivered the 521/C6 to New Age Motorsports yesterday, and we couldn't believe how much progress was made since the pictures Ed sent us. We hope to get it back by the end of March. We aren't rushing them at all, and stressed that, but he does have 3 cars after ours going on. 8) Here's some more pics of our Coupe in progress. BTW, I drove up with Dad and my two brothers, and it was priceless! We are a close family, and just being with them all was worth more than the Coupe. I love my brothers and Dad so much! :D I'm so glad we bought our Coupe from Ed and Chris; these guys are so knowledgeable and even added some changes knowing the engine we were putting in. :cheers:

Great choice on using Ed and Chris.
They build "The finest "5 window body available, no short cuts taken.
They do sum killer and quality work, and great guys on top of that.

Gonna take some pry bars to get that 460/c6 in with that firewall/floorboard/tunnel and still have room for a radiator

Despite being a sbc guy, I enjoy seeing something different under the hood every now and then. Cool!

What it needs is a decent recess..I am in the process of rebuilding a 32/5w body,that came out of the molds that we now own..It was originally setup with a BBC,tunnel ram,twin 4's etc,,now a mouse resides in the same hole,with setback of about 6-7 inches.. Looked kinda awesome with the B/B in it,, This one that pat from Jersey's building,will look the same..:eek:

Thank you everyone! I posted some pictures of the engine in the Graffiti thread, so here are those as well. I didn't detail anything yet. This is how the 521 looks after I pulled it out of my 66 Fairlane last Fall. This was the first engine I ever built by myself back in 2006, and so far after 5000 miles, many passes at the Drag Strip and street miles, it's still together. LOL I even file fit all the rings and had to modify the main support and windage tray to fit. This will be behind a TCI Full Competition C6 with a street fighter 10" 3500 stall converter, which use to be in my Fairlane when I had a mild 472 engine in it. I had a 4-speed in the Fairlane with the 521, so I haven't had this engine/trans combo together yet. I will give the litany of parts for this engine.

460 block .030 over
ARP studs/bolts
Scat 4.30" stroke crank
Scat 6.8" H beam rods
JE forged aluminum pistons (9.8 to 1)
Ford SCJA aluminum heads
Ford C460 hydraulic flat tappet cam (.585/.621 - 310*/320*)

Never had it dyno'd, but the Ford crate engine with most of this stuff put out 600HP. I think with my amateur build, I have to have at least 550-575, with tons of torque. I think it will be right at home in our little 32.

Looks and sounds like you built a nice engine, it should sure power a little coupe with no problem!!!! Are you going to stay with the electric water pump or go to a belt driven for the street??

That is a street engine, and the electric water pump cooled the Fairlane perfect. I can get real close to the radiator and electric fans, so cooling shouldn't be an issue. Ed at NAM thinks the same. I hope! hahaha I have one serpentine belt for my 200amp alternator, so I should be good. I will make this work, no matter what I have to do. I can get creative for sure. :)
