the condensor did come with 4 metal pieces of steel several inches long with holes the hole length already in them to extend out for mounting to shell. but bolting those pieces to the grill shell is where I am not happy with anything plus they are 2 inches wide and block quite a few square inches of radiator cooling fins if installed on all 4 tabs. gonna have to do something though.
Gary, those tabs bolt to the radiator, not to the grille shell. The condenser mounts solid to the radiator, the radiator mounts to the frame with springs to allow flex, and the shell mounts how ever it needs to. My shell ('33/34) has one small bolt to a tab off the top of the radiator, and then four bolts to the splash aprons that mount to the frame so it moves if the radiator moves. I know your deuce is different, but I thought that the grille mounted to the frame at the bottom.
Roger, thanks for your explanation but I understood your advice to Gary, that's the reason I suggested the need for increased clearance if he bolted the tabs on. I agree with you, I wouldn't weld on the condenser tube as well, but if welding was his choice, the four blocks you suggest for bolting the tabs to would be a better location to weld, that's how the tabs are attached to my PRC condenser. I'm confident once Gary realizes he doesn't need to attach the condenser to the grille shell, he will find his best solution. Thanks again for helping!!Quote:

I won't do any welding there and the extension pieces they sent will bolt right up to the condensor but I am not too keen on the idea of bolting anything to the radiator. Putting holes in my $800 radiator for screws is not something I find appealing. I will get it all back out on the work bench tomorrow and inspect it all again but don't remember any areas on the radiator where I can put screws without danger of getting into the radiator core and causing leaks. Have a Vintique grille and Vintique grille shell which fit perfectly together and holes in shell mounted right up to the grille shell mounting tabs which US Radiator has on the radiator sides. but nothing on radiator for mounting a condensor.
If you look at the side of your radiator does it have the series of "keyholes" for mounting braces, recovery tank, etc? If so then the front edge of that piece can safely be drilled & tapped for mounting the condenser. You might call Duane at N&N and ask him to walk you through how he does it on a roller if someone buys the radiator, condenser and grill shell & grill mounted. He's helped me see through the fog on several occasions, and he's a good guy to talk to, anyway. Or call PRC and chat with them? Their tech guys are good, too.
