So ive heard.... Better to get a red 5 times and a .550 then a .800 i guess, Anyone know how to adjust the bands on a TH350? i think theres an external adjustment...:confused:

I like to stage shallow,and when the second light goes completely out ,I hit it.Like getting a running start.(sportsman tree )
Yes, thats what ive heard if you can hit the pre stage and roll up as slow as possible just till the second light luminates then i mash the brake and dont move becouse its like what one full foot before the lazer so you can actually get a 5 mph start on it.

i liked to light the first bulb and then stage shallow myself...even if someone double-bulbs you dont worry...do your race
i always had my crew stand at my doors in the staging lane cause nothing gets you off more than a damn drunk givin you the thumbs up and slappin your car as you roll to the water box
roll thru the water without spinnin your tires...youve seen em spin in the water, well that just throws water up in the fender well to drip on freshly heated tires promoting uneven grip and traction problems
even tho it sounds cool...dont wrap your motor to the moon in neutral...AND NEVER purge thru the motor...its hard on the bottom end and you look like a jackass
prepare your car fully BEFORE going to the track so you dont thrash & bash while they call you to the lanes
dont allow your crew to show up in T-shirts that are too small with holes in the belly

an i forgot this MOST IMPORTANT tip
in a heavy door car, the slicks are only good for 20 passes max...they'll go more but your 60' times will fall off...SO...smoke the snot out of em...the crowds love it...you will too...and the first time some little kid comes up to you in the pits and asks you for an autograph...PUT HIM IN THE CAR...start it...let him rap the throttle...i promise, it'll make all your work and money spent worth it :) :cool:

Well wow, i almost forgot about this forum. Good thing i finally checked my e-mail. Yes all good sounding advice and i will try it. I got the transmission freshley rebuilt sence my last post and am changing the old cilinder heads out for some hyp dart's along with a machanical billit roller cam and roller rockets with a tall plenum Edlebrock Victor Jr. Manifold. Maybe that slippy trans and the extra 100 horse will put me in the 12's if i can get traction...
