Back in two
Going home, made 17 days on a drilling rig in GOM. I don't even turn on my computer on while i'm home my two weeks. So i will not be back on till I get back.
I am going to try and get back to the track for my second time.
This is going to be another one of those guess my time post.
55 belair/283/ 4 spd /3.55 gear last time out first run ever in anything.
pas #1 15.5@92 pass#2 clutch stuck to floor from 2nd to 3rd 15.8@88
pas#3 15.4 @94 was in 3rd gear at 6200RPM
Busted rear end and found a 3.70 gear, acording to the math 100 mph will take 6800 rpm, motor pulls to 7000.
Am I still going to be stuck at 15 sec or if I can get to 100mph will I be close to 14?
With the higher gear a had a poor 3 second 60 ft time!!!!

I don't think going from 3:55 to 3:70 will make a huge difference, maybe a 1/10 or 2/10, but a half second will be tough. 4:11 might have a better shot at it, but a 283 can only do so much.
Actually, your times are pretty respectable, IMO. Don't know what all is done to car, but maybe more cam/ intake/exhaust will get you where you want to be.

IMHO, those are very respectful times considering your engine/car configuration. If you're not running headers a set of those with a sticky, wider rear tire will help you get a little lower as will a stouter cam and head work, but being street worthy will suffer.

sounds like to me you got that 55 humping. **)

I'm no genius but someone once said "283 inches is NOT going to be happy about dragging 4000 plus pounds around."
