I like Pinks All-OUt. Great shows, draw huge crowds and give the racers a chance at 10 Grand plus an 8000 tool box. Plus the chance to bet against one another. They are drawing 400+ cars per event for I think a $35 entry fee. I disagree that it encourages street racing, the goal, besides making money of course is to bring Street racing to the track. I think it's going in the right direction. Rich is kinda full of himself, but I think he is learning to tone it down, and his crew of knowledgable guys is pretty good. I have talked with folks that have been to the events and raced in them and they loved it, great shows and great racing.

jerry: racing should step back 20-30 years its more fun to see gear banging cars hoppin and bouncing down the 1320 then it is a glide auto delay box pile. and of course the fuel cars were not only beautiful works of art they hauled some ass to!
dave: i understand the brackets were to help people afford to race but sometimes it seems like just to stay competitve there you also need big $ for the electronics and fancy chassis set ups
It`s all to pricey for me!! I would love to race but i cannot afford any type of racing, even roundy round racing is more than i have.

Face it most of the crowd know nothing about a race car to begin with, and have never been to another motorsports event to even compare it against.
Heck Mikey Waltrip crashed his cup car into the wall at the new Charolette drag strip making a pass, while jeg Coughlin and Tony Schumacher ran 10.300's in his cup car.
I sure can't think of another form of racing that has more champions from other types of racing.... USAC champions, ex-formula 1 race winners, cart racing champions, W0W champions, IRL winners and champions...
Michael Waltrip would hardly be considered the cream of the crop among NASCAR'S best.... of course, we probably don't want to talk about how Ron Capps does when he shows up at Eldora for Smoke's late model shoot out, do we.....?????:LOL::LOL::LOL: Granted, he did a bit better this year, but hardly a standout.....

Championships have nothing to do with driving skills. Nascar, Indy, Top fuel, F1, and Cart races are won from the pits and top dollar parts and technology, The car has to be set up to win, the driver is maybe 15% of winning a cup race. Michael Waltrip may not be the best but he has won some big races including Daytona, because he had the best car.
Your best drivers are people seldom heard of, racing races for glory only not millions of dollars. Please watch this whole clip, keep an open mind as to the skill and difficulty factor involved. This particular race is on a coarse of dirt and pavement, one lap has 254 turns, thats lefts and rights. No way to memorize the track. This guy is solo, when they run a full 4 stage race it 1200 miles long with navigator, its in all weather conditions, temps from 125 desert to zero, in snow, ice, asphault, dirt, jumps, bumps, trees, rain, mud, people standing on the track. The 1st minute is boring credits but after that hold on.

Geez... Off road and racing in snow dirt ice don't mean squat. By the way, Robbie Gordon has done some of that I believe.....
If NASCAR wasn't cream of the crop and best of the best it wouldn't pay the most or have the biggest number of fans.....

And along with the hoopla comes the million dollar cars that if everything down to a single pound of air pressure in a tire is not right the race can be lost from there. And every aspect of the cars set up and running performance and pit strategy has to be dead on on race day to win in Nascar, its not the driver any more like it was back in the days of glory version, not the days of thunder money version.
Well, not exactly so with the new car.... As of now it's still an ill handling POS that takes a lot of driving to keep it out of the wall.... I like the new car, it sure is a bunch safer but I also like the fact that it takes a lot of driving to be competitive. NASCAR has this car templated to death, no more creative engineering on the sheetmetal to dial in the aerodynamics. The new car has also made "the team" more important, everything has to be right at the start of the race, then during the course of the race communication between driver and crew is critical to keep up with the track.... add to this the strategy involved in running a 500 mile race and sooooo many teams having all the good equipment as opposed to years ago when only about 10 cars were capable of winning a race, everybody involved had better "bring their A game" come race day.....
