Hi,

I am thinking about getting a new carb for my 454 to see if that is my problem for getting too much gas in my engine and i was wondering what the differance was and the pros and cons. Also, if i have no vacuum advance, does it matter what secondairies? And last of all, I whats the smallest carb youd go with?

hi guy. you did'nt say if you were going to use the 454 for the street or what ever, but if you are going to use it for the street ,you should look into a 600 or bigger ELDERBROCK they are easy to rejet if you have too.also get the one w\ elec choke,should work good for ya. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

thanx for the response, I have had people telling me to switch to an edelbrock with electric choke but have pretty much got my answer already. Im just wondering how hard it is to hook up the electric choke.

run the choke wire over to the ignition side of your starter sylenoid.... pretty simple

as stated that will work just fine hooked up that way, but if you want to have the choke wired to a fuse then just tap into a fused wire for power and ground the other wire to the top of the carb,thats the way that i do it anyway but eather way will fly.
