HO or standard 305 ID
How do I tell if I have the 305 HO motor or the 305 standard motor.. the guy I bought my car from said he had took the engine out of a mid 80's monte carlo the heads have the bolts in the center of the covers (not around the edges) if that matters, otherwise just tell me where ot look for the numbers and I will tell u

Pull either valve cover and post the casting number found on the head.

'87-'94 Carb or EFI, 1-piece rear main seal, roller lifters, center bolt valve covers, 1.84"/1.50" valves, standard ports, 58 cc chambers.
Probably nothing to write home about.

ok so actually an 87-94 305
hopefully I have the right plugs .. I take it this is NOT the H.O. motor
-
nope just a standard 305, still a good reliable motor

To double check, apply a magnet to the intake manifold. LG4's were iron, L69 HO's were factory aluminum. Also look for the L69 HO casting number 10066015 on the manifold and a double snorkel air cleaner housing.
LG4's and LO3's had a manifold casting number of 14057053.

there is no air cleaner at all no carb nothing lol
Ill check the aluminum deal as well as the item numbers tommorow
