I found a 1970 Buick Skylark which my dad put the motor in a few years ago. He said its a Wildkat 350, its supposedly wider then a normal GM small block. I've heard they are supposed to be fairly powerful. What can you guys tell me about it?

well it is a Buick block, it is larger than the SBC, and are about the size of a BBC, up until the late 70's all Buick V8's were all the same block designe, 350-455, they didn't have a small block or big block because there large cube engines used the same block type as the small cube engines. and yes the Buick Wildcat engines will hold there own with the right parts. '70 should be pretty good stock.
One of the biggest problem is the external oil pump they use.Quote:
