New Engine Start Up Problem
HELP HELP
I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF STARTING UP THE ENGINE.I PRIMED THE ENGINE AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF SETTING THE FUEL LINE PRESSURE (ELECTRIC PUMP) I DISCOVERED A HEAVY FUEL LEAK COMING FROM THE ACCELERATOR SHAFT.AT THIS POINT I HAD BEEN RUNNING THE PUMP ABOUT 90 SECONDS BEFORE SEEING THE LEAK.GAS WAS ON THE MANIFOLD,AND INSIDE THE MANIFOLD.I PULLED THE PLUGS AND FOUND RAW GAS INSIDE THE PLUGS.THE ENGINE (SBC) IS REBUILT AND HAS NEVER BEEN RUN. THE CARB.WAS REBUILT BUT HAD BEEN ON THE SHELF A COUPLE OF YEARS.I BLEW OUT THE PLUG HOLES AND TRIED THE FUEL PUMP AGAIN,GUESS WHAT NO LEAKS.I AM DUMFOUNDED.ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED ,AS I DON'T WANT TO DAMAGE THE ENGINE AS I HAVE SPENT A FEW BUCKS TO GET IT TO A PERFORMANCE LEVEL.
DON IN AUSTIN
I finally fixed that annoying noise in the car. I just opened the door at 60mph and pushed him out. .
