435 Stroker SBF Build

Ok I am going to be building a 435 stroker out of a man-o-war block.
I need help from anyone to help me pick the right block as far as deck height.
I want to run a hydrallic roller cam and will be running Brodix's sts t1 f std 225. Head info is as followed.

Cubic Inch Compression Camshaft RPM
302 - 440 11.5 minimum Hydrallic roller 3500 - 8000

They are fully cnc ported

Valve size is

2.100 Intake 1.600 exhaust

there are 2 choices and size of springs direct me to the best.
first is 1.470 spring
second is 1.550 spring

Intake port is 225 cc volume port is 64cc

I will be runnin scorpion roller rockers on the heads (thanks for the tip erik erikson) so guys help me figure out i need to finish up my choices so i can start building thanks

With aluminum heads we can comfortably run about 10.0:1 compression ratio on pump gas, but we will have to coordinate the piston crown configuration with Speed-O-Motive and the cam grinder to make sure we have a combination that will work on pump gas up to 6,500 rpm's. It will all hinge on the cam specs.

We still have a lot of parts to choose and would appreciate the help of the board. This motor will be a Saturday Nite Street Killer and Sunday drag strip scourge. It will be a 435 cubic inch Ford Windsor rev limited to 6,500 so he can run a hydraulic roller cam for some street driving and bolted into a '95 Mustang SVT Cobra. I've commited to helping Eric with the parts choices for his project and I'd appreciate any help you other guys can offer.

O.K. Eric, You've jumped ahead a little on the camshaft. We won't need a cam that will make power to 8,000 rpm's if we are going to rev limit the motor to 6,500. Who is your favorite cam grinder. I'll list a few of the ones I like....Crane, Iskenderian, Engle, CompCams, Crower. Which grinders do you like?

the heads have a max rpm range of 8,000 i have not chosen a cam yet. Thats what we need to figure out.

I like comp cams, or crane. But i do want to run a msd distributor and ignition box

Hey Eric, email Brodix and ask what cam they used and what compression ratio on the dyno test 427W with the Track 1 225 ported heads. The test where they show the 600 hp results at 6,500 rpm's. Find out all you can about that test. What intake manifold. What carb or was it EFI? What rocker ratio, what pan, oil pump, did they use a carb spacer, etc., etc.

Eric I do not know how you plan on building the 435 but it would be best
with a Dart Sportsman block which is what we used on this engine build.
The engine was 427C.I. with a 4.125 bore and a 4.000 stroke. The
compression was about 10.5 to 1 with a Comp Cams custom hydraulic roller
camshaft and Crane link bar lifters. The heads were the Brodix Track 1
heads that we CNC in house along with a Edelbrock Victor Jr intake and a
Holley 950HP. This engine idles on 800 rpms and I have in my Cobra right
now. It will turn 7000 rpms but cruse down the road at 2200 to 2400 rpms
no problem. We also used a Canton oil pan, MSD distribuor and wires,
Edelbrock aluminum water pump, KCR logo valve covers, zero balanced and
blue printed and dyno testd and tuned. We do this engine complete of the
dyno for about 11,500.00 with the Dart block and can up-grade to the
aluminum block for about 2200.00. Hope this gives you a little insight to

Well, that answers most of the rest of the questions on the 435W buildup parts. It was very nice of Keith to take time out of his day to answer the questions put to him by Eric. We don't know the cam grind exactly, but that would be simple enough to find out. Eric, I suggest you email CompCams and tell them what we are doing here and get their suggesion for a hydraulic roller cam grind. We might also want to get in touch with Canton and get their recommendation for the pan, pump and other bottom end pan parts.
