why customs ? hi rollling with deep pockets mat. why not a set of new cast pistons ? if you want customs pistons you will need to know your bore size you want to go to and the size rod and stroke they should know that if that will all be stock ? and what deck you want to be at and the pin size you want to use in the pistons
reason I'm going with forged is, I'm going to run it turbocharged, want all stock sizing except a 10cc dish, which will keep the static comp at 8.2:1. I'm figuring on the stock deck height of .025, of couse I'll measure that. there is only 1 company that makes Forged pistions for the 200 Ford and that is JE but only through an agreement with www.classicinlines.com ( Classic inlines is the only dealer for those pistions ) and they are $715 for a set of 6 not including rings, I contacted Cambell Enterprises about JE pistions ( there a dealer for them ) and a set of 6 custom Forged pistions will run $589 with rings and pistion pins, custom only makes sense
any custom piston maker will make then if they have the slugs to cut the piston out of. diamond. wiseco. howards. mahle .etc
so all I do is send them 1 of the old pistions? I contacted EGGE originally as Streets told me to have custom pistions, for lower compression made for the engine ( capability of higher boost ) and I emailed them, but they said because I was turbocharging I would need, then gave me refrences to Arias Industries and Ross Racing Pistions
you want to talk to the company that will make your pistons .you talk to them if you are doing the engine work or your machine shop they make piston and the old piston will not help much if you are going dish they may move the ring pack down . you give them the numbers of bore .stroke. rod pin. deck . valve pockets . size of valves .cc of the head and head gasket and get force pin oiling
I'm rebuilding the engine myself, at the auto class I take. I guess when I get to that point, I'll get that information, then call and order
Matt,find a JE piston catalog.Quote:
