oldsmobile motor question

after weeks of trying to go pickup the el camino(67),got her home after going
threw hell with U haul,( sorry!! I'm trying not to get off the subject) I guess
it has a new crate olds engine in it,(never fired) but I need help on finding out exactly what it is, I don't even know where the number are or where to look,all I know is it looks hugh,the bigger plugs and it's blue,I don't know if it was painted but I'm thinking thats the way it came,I know it's not much help,
I'm putting a chev back in but I just need to know what I'll be selling, thanks!!

What series do you think you have? Is it like a 455, or what.

sorry! I have no idea what series:confused: and as far as pictures,the only way I can get them to you is email, for some reason I can't seem to load pictures, it tells me that it's loading but they won't come out,**) the few times that it did they were too big,I miss spoke when I said about the blue paint,I took a closer look and it's been sprayed,I noticed the valve covers have ten small bolds,there is some numbers on the intake manifold which may or maynot help also between the block and the water pump,I know it's not much help, but I've never worked on an Olds so I'm really lost here..

Do you know what year of manufacture the engine is. Reason I asked is that I believe Olds stopped building their Olds engines in the late 70's/early 80's. They went to using engines by GM due to lawsuit :eek: . Story was that somebody bought an Oldsmobile that was advertised to have an Olds engine in it, and it turned out to be a standard GM engine. Guy (class action???) sued for false advertising, so Oldsmobile stopped advertising their engines as being Oldsmobile engines. Olds still had different cube sizes as well as the other GM brands, but many parts were GM.

At least that I was told by my Olds people. Could be they lied about it, but I couldn't detect it.:whacked:

Dave sorry it's taking so long to get back,but the battery went dead on the kodak,(expensive little cuss)and the ole gateway broke down,so here I'm going nuts**) ,so we went and bought a dell flat screen:whacked: then the
after we dot it all set up the internet service went down for over 24 hours(seemed like days) but I will get back if everyhting goes well:o
