my post seemed to get deleated after the crash this past week. anyway, I made a parts order wedsday from summit, to the tune of $950.26. which was for a Holley 2300 carb, nitrophotyl float, and jet kit, MSD 6 BTM & a Duraspark II- MSD box connector, Accell Superstock 8.8 plug wire ( yeah, I know ) MSD Blaster 2 coil, and bracket, and a Turbonetics Carb bonnet. so I'm up to $2,504.12.

yeah, I know. I doubt I'll be over $3,500 tho. figuring in every little cost. all parts came in today that I had out on order ( except the roller rockers, there still on the boat coming over from OZ land, to Classic Inlines, due anytime now tho ).Quote:

Well guys. new total $2,956. engine Machine work was cheap, $248.42 and he switched my pistions on the rods, bore and hone, cam bearings ( charged me for the bearings but, not for the installation ) $21.25 and $4 somthing for freeze plugs. but, I noticed the other day, my harmonic balancer was in crap shape, arleady had a sleeve on it, and the rubber didn't look good, so I had to get a new 1, no parts store could get 1, so $139.95 from Dearborn Classics, but it's new and not rebuilt, and whail I was at it, I bought a new set of original " Ramp Lok " exhaust manifold bolts for $17.95 also. and yesterday, I purchased the Transdapt carb adaptor I needed for the 2300 Holley. $3k here I come. I can't wait tho, right now, this car is all I'v got, and it's starting to go back togther finally.
sounds like shes comin along smoothly... i coulda told you that you'd need a new balancer and i've never seen yours :LOL:
well, I got the main bearings in today. monday, the crank goes in, and I'll plastigauge that. and then I'll have to ring the pistions and put in the rod bearings, so I can put the pistions in.
the balancer didn't look healthy to begin with, and it always seemed to wobble on the rubber ring a bit, not to mention, I could never get the mark on the timing light... I could have had a high performance balancer for $235 but, I couldn't justify the cost diffrence.
