Water/ Alchahol injection for boosted engine? idea, I think

what will I need for water/ Alchahol Injection for a engine running 10 PSI boost, I'v been told the washer pump won't work because it can't overcome the preassure, so what kind of 12v automotive pump will work?


I also got this ingenius Idea, that if it would work, would not need a pump. If I took a stainless steel coolant recovery tank ( I'd get a big 1, not the 23 OZ like I'v got for the coolant ) with the 2 hose fittings, the 1 that's a vent line that runs to the top, and the other, that starts at the bottom. If I hooked a preassure line ( from turbo outlet ) to the vent line, and then ran a line from the bottom of the tank, to a cut off solonoid, that opened with power, and run that to a preassure switch, set to a low PSI, and then switched that on/off with a toggle switch. so when alchahol injection was not needed, the solonoid would not activate, the recovery tank would just have a little preassure put in it, but should be able to handle 10 PSI. The preassure coming out of the turbo is always 2-3 PSI more than what's at the intake, because of preassure drop thru the pipes, so if the gate was set for 10 psi, and I refrenced the alchahol system to Turbo preassure, it would be 10 psi, turbo at the intake would be 7 or 8 psi, so it would have 2-3 psi to make atomization, thru the nozzle in the intake ( actully pipe, just b4 carb ). would this work?

Snow Performance has a great line of water/alcohol injection systems. Put one on a guys 4.6 Mustang Supercharged last summer, he sez it works great. Got that one from Sumitt....

It's great until you run out of water/alcohol at full boost.

what if you just run e85:LOL:

only 2 gas stations I know of that sell E85 anywhere near me, are still an hour away, I'm still setting the engine up for E85 ( correct rubber parts for the alchahol ) because 102 octane.

I just want the water/ alchahol injection system, so I can run a little more timing at the drag strip/ when I need it. I got the MSD 6 BTM, so I will have the boost timing adjustment right there asessable from the drivers seat.

go with the stage two water injection from snow performance (at least i think its them, the only one they sell on summit)

I want one for my wifes volvo and haven given some serious thought to how to tell when the tank is running low. She's not dumb but being a girl she has a tendency to not pay attention to gauges when she drives. I think the best thing would be to replace the water tank the kit comes with, with a 3 gallon fuel cell. You could easily mount the cell in the trunk without losing too much space, plenty of capacity, and you could use a standard gm fuel level sensor hooked up to a fuel gauge of some sort. You'll always know how much you have so you don't accidently kill your engine. (biggest downfall is the added weight of 3 gallons of water, so you have to remove something else non-essential, like the brake master cylinder or something. :LOL: )

why dont you hook it up so when the tank gets low theres a constant loud buzzer..... she'll think its about to blow up and call you for help everytime

If she's like my wife... that won't work either... She drove her van for a week with the oil light on and dinging noises before remembering to mention it to me.:rolleyes: :eek: BTW... that one was SHOT...:CRY: :(

The motor ... was shot... not the wife... although at the time... I was angry enough to. I was working double shift for a month and a half... would call her to remind her to check the oil cuz it burned a little... after that... she had to stop to fill the oil and check the fuel in her newly converted fog machine.
