New engine/trany for a classic Cougar
http://www.blueprintengines.com/popu...=specs&pc_id=5
I'm looking to install the above engine into a 1967 Mercury Cougar. I currently have the original 289/C4 auto combo but both are on the verge of death. I'm looking for a 6 speed manual (optimaly, but i'll settle for a five speed) that can bolt up to the engine and my car with minimal mods. This is my first project car, so any help that will prevent a costly mistake would be greatly appreciated.

There are a number of companies that sell the Tremec transmission as a Package, including the flywheel, clutch and bellhousing. Seen them on eBay or try a google search for Tremec. Should be a very nice setup when you get it done!!!! For the clutch, you can either swap in a stock one if you can find it, or use a hydraulic clutch setup, also available on the aftermarket.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

in mustang monthly i saw a company selling a brand new t-56 with all conversion parts for putting it in your car for $2600.... in my opinion, thats a hell of a deal.... on my car for my 6 speed i went with just a conversion kit and a transmission i stole from a totaled viper....just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

Not to get off topic but hope you have a chance to register your 67 in the national database on CCOA.

Sounds like a nice project.
