chevy 400
i have an chevy 400 dont know if its a 2 0r 4 bolt main for sure yet i think its a 2.i would like to build to put in my 33 ford and would like a good thump from the cam and may be an blower or supper charger.what would i have to do?dont want to put a hole lot in it may be 2 to 3 grand minus the blower.it will be used on the street.would i be able to run low comp with out the blower and then put one on later.about how much hp can i expect with a small 6-71 blower?i know this is alot of? iam kinda new at this motor build.........thanks

imo , for a high hp engine, 400 plus cubic inches you need a after market block....Friends dont let friends drive fords!

I think a 383 build would be better for the Blower set up . The 400 SBs are great . But with the steam hole set up in block and heads . They do run hotter then the 350/383 engines . And with that 6-71 blower that engine will really heat up . With a well built 383 and that 6-71 blower ? You should be just over 600 HPwith 10lbs.of Boost
