I just bought a '92 Ranger 4x4 with 2.8/ 5spd for $400, and it does run and drive but has an issue.. the PO says the fuel pressure regulator is bad, causing gas to get sucked in the vac system ( which I know can happen if the diaphram ruptures ). it now idles rich and stumbles at idle ( seems to go with the story ).. and if you shut it off and go to restart it, you have to put the pedal to the floor and it will start like a flooded carb engine. the truck is still at the PO's ( DMV not open on sat ) so what I was wondering.. can I stick a vac cap over the FPR vac port, and plug off the vac line just to get it home?
