Have you ever had a Chinese tool or machine that worked for more than a few hours? The extra bucks for an American made crank will look cheap when your Chinese bottom end shits its guts all over the road.

The bottom end of a motor is something I would not go cheap on,the bolt on parts maybe but not the internals. I will spend the money on a good crank if I build one.

David Vizard says he has been puttin' 550+ hp through a 3.750" Scat cast STEEL crank for years now without a failure.

Might work fine in a race car but nothing I would want in a motor to go cross country in.

The China made forgings are of a superior steel to the old oem forged steel cranks and are reasonably priced---they have allowed all these big cube/high horsepower combinations to be built. The companies went over there to get away from EPA regulations on factory emissions, not because the quality of the forging .
At least with crankshafts you know its not child labor----
We use mostly Callies stuff , but do use an occasional Eagle if thats what the customer wants or fits the budget.

Moving to China to avoid the EPA ! That is not the right thing to do. They should have found a way to make them here and pushed their product as made in USA !
Should sell like hotcakes.
Are there any cranks made here in the USA for his application ?
That was ,I believe his question
Several years ago we did quite a good trip of USA, and on our trip we got to meet Mike and Christine Frade. We didn't stay long with them, but in that relatively short time we both gained a great...
