I just have always loved those motors, just the way they are. The 6 pack is the best 440, It has a higher Hp rating than the 426 Hemi, although it was less thought of and cared for. My dad had 2 6 pack 440 cars.

Matt167; I also ran a 440 cross tunnel ran. I got the Intakes off a buddy, but it was too hard to keep the carbs in sequnce or timed together. So I went back to a single 4 barrel. Oh and the 400 can be punched out more then the 440. and you can put 455 olds Rod in it with some machine work and the 400 becomes a 470. I thought you might like to know that.

I diddn't know that u could convert a 400 to a 470. I still like the 440 as my favorite Mopar because of the 6 pack ( 3 2bbls ) and the legacy that continues on between them, meaning, Most evrybody knows someone or is related to someone who has or had a 440 car. I dont think you can say that about a 400 because it was not known for it's power. The 440 was most thought after ( to the general public ) rich people got Hemi cars. Many kids know about 440's 426 Hemi's but do not know about the wedges or the other Mopars.

Vegas, Try using Paint shop 4 you can get the free version on the web. I have mine scanned and save to Jpeg on my Hot rod puter. The smaller the file the better. To get a smaller file just resize and save. I hope to start studying graphic art this summer you should see my flames and Car pics!.
My favorite engine? One that I can work on without needing and advanced degree in computer programming :rolleyes:
I prefer big blocks, with FE's and B/RB Mopars in the lead. Dunno, maybe it's the shaft mounted rockers, heheh :D
BowTie Girl; I took art for about 10 years and loved it. If you drew that car on the other thread your dang good. I've seen people do some cool things on cars. I tryed to do a picture on the hood of one of my cars. It came out alright but I was not that happy with it, every one else seemed to like it though. The big thing is preping the metal right and using the right paints and lots of tape. When I did mine I used a air brush, the first time I had ever used one. I took some thing I seen on a old calender. It was two old Model-T's One Original looking with a old man and his wife,and the 2'nd Model-T choped and droped with mag rims With a young guy and his wife. They were stoped at a light and both couples were looking at the others car. I'd go to a restrant and sit so I could see my car, and I would see people walk over to it to get a look, and then walk away grinning. Kinda cool. should have gotton a picture of it . Oh well I'm leaning.

Vegas, I did do thet one. It is in water color. I have played with airbrush. It is fun. I really enjouy using water color. I seem to have a nack for it. Believe it or not the Chubby Chevy in purple was turned down by Halmark cards here in KC just because I did not have a degree. I wll fix that starting in the summer. I do not lie and I may have incorrect info. I know I am multi-talented. Thanks Vegas.
BowTie Girl; We've all gotten bad information before so, that ain't no big deal. I've gotten bad information many times, like about some stuff I heard about glycol or antifreeze. But you can ask my buddy Streets about that one because, thats how he and I met. Streets really knows his stuff, and would dwarf the stuff that I know which ain't really that much. my favorite powerplant would hafta be the Ford 427 cammer, not a common engine, but it came stock with 663 HP, a friend of mine built one up, dynoed it and its putting 934 HP to the wheels with a nice 527 lbs of torque... now that engine is a beast... it mostly was put in the 67 LTDs but hes running it in a 66 stang, puts out a 7.2 1/4 mile..... if he can keep the front tires on the ground most the time

And it grows in power with time. 615 becomes 663 just by getting older. Damn, stock turbo Buick motors must be up to 400 by now at that rate.
Ah, hell, it's all just numbers. ANy car that runs low 7s in the 1/4 is the REAL DEAL in my book.
And while we're talking motors, anyone who wants a piece of my "tinkertoy" motor had better be packing some serious hardware. It pushed my 3600# Grand National to low 11's with a smaller turbo and injectors than it has now in my #3000 street rod. BRING IT ON!!
I like a chevy350 with a tunnel ram and 2 holley carbs and a whole lot of juice.I also really like the LS1 it would be my choice for street and strip, they run good stone stock but a lot better with a few mods its easy to get one in the 7's.
anything chevy , 327 / 350 / 383 / 396 / 409 / etc. second chioce would be the 426 Hemi , many sources agree that the advertised hp of 425hp was an understatement and prob for insurance reasons. The real figure was prob around the 570hp mark. matt167 I dont know many 440 6 pacs that put that much out . A guy in our car club had a roadrunner with the hemi , what a SCARY ride!
