Ford 4.6
TIP>>>>>The other day a friend came over and asked me to change the heater hoses on his 4.6 2000 Crown Vic. I looked and told him he has molded hoses and he'd have to order them. The next day he was back with hoses in hand about 15 min. later we toped off the rad. and he left. Two days later hes back says the new hoses are leaking. I looked, not the hoses but the intake. Ford put a metal hose fitting in a plastic intake, Some where along the line it was over tightend and cracked it. I call for a new part. $340.00+. I took a few more things out of the way to see whats what. There is a molded in brace runing up one side of the plastic hub. I cut a slot down the side of the brace and put a hose clamp on where the fitting screws in. SO for a half hr.s work and a $1.10 hose clamp he dosen't have to pay $340.00+ Maybe this will save someone else some $$$$$$. PLASTIC INTAKE????Charlie

I wore a camouflage T-shirt once. The response in the pub was "Oooh, it's a floating head!" .
