Well I made a choice. I'm going with the Hemi for sure. I also made a choice on a trans. I finally found a 46RH core. I really liked the idea of a 4 speed manual, but the cost for trans, shifter, and clutch was going to eat up some big fundage. So here we go.

I’m jealous, I’m still hunting for one :LOL:
I’m currently just using a bare case with valve body for mockup on my 37 .
You are aware that the front half of the trans is basically just a 727 and all you will need is just a 3 speed shifter? The OD and lockup convertor (if you have one) is electrically controlled. You can use toggle switches if you want or set it up to be fully automatic.
If you haven’t already seen it you might be interested in this link.

Yep Mike, I use the same version of this trans in my corvette and in dodge auto trucks. I was talking about the cost of the manual trans shifter, not one for the auto. I'm hoping this trans bolt pattern is close to the early hemi engine plate. I'll see in the morning.

If it's from behind a smallblock it's close (if it's from a V10 or diesel probably not...although if it's from the diesel it has all the good stuff inside and it's just transfering all the internals into a SB case). You will stiil need a spacer and flex plate to make it to the HEMI due to the distance that the HEMI crank hangs out from the block.

Today I got the original torque converter off the 354 and bolted the 354's engine plate to my 46RH. It doesn't look real close to me. Only a few bolt holes will work. I think I'm better off getting an adapter so all the bell housing bolts go in to the back of the engine. What are your thoughts on it?
