I saw this the other day and figured I'd share it with you guys and see if you guys have seen any others like this before. Before I say what it is, who can guess what it is? Jerry and Pat can probably come really close.

CJ batten heads or aris or fuely heads or some one with a cnc center. bottom end based off a bbc bottom end some what.rods look like RR s be a 2.350 big end 1.094 pin end .and the cam in the back ground is a crane old core looks like 55mm core and in back gound there a ls engine block and a Dewalt drill looks to have a 3/4 socket on it
Na Pat, the DeWhat ? looks like a 3/16 drill bit in it and as for the other stuff.... it all looks far to expensive for my purse I'm afraid....
Oh the battery needs charged on the drill too please....
Now that's one hefty rod....
and now the winning lotto numbers are
Pat nice detail on the stuff in the backround! I figuired some of you guys might think this is cool and interesting too. If I get a video of it running I'll be sure to post it here. It hasn't been fired yet as far as I know. Here is what it is:
Blown Smoke is a 511 cubic inch Brad Anderson Hemi block with custom built heads by Curtis Halvorson (Extreme Engine Development out of Calgary, AB). It has a Bryant crank with BME rods and pistons. Bosch Motorsports 500% over LBZ injectors along with standalone tuning and fuel. The blower is a PSI 206 D. It is driven by a B&J 3 speed transmission with U.S quick drive converter system and a Precision converter. Brad Hadman chromoly 6.0 certified tub chassis and carbon fibre body…also entails blood sweat and tears by Brian, Jamie and Curtis.
So basically a Hemi with a Duramax diesel fuel injection and control system.
rods rods are cheap as for money go.s on builds like this but the billet heads and block now that big money .you want to feel the burn buy a set of titanium rods the ones in my 735bbc i had 3000. in them built from Crower and recoated they made one rod when all said and done i sold the short block for what i had in the rods $5000. .
rods did not look like BME stuff more like the RR rods. but what the hell. most of bill miller stuff is a forged rod with boeing aluminum. we use the bme 396 forged rod a the 426 but hell it was aluminum
Pat, your guess would be closest I figured since you play with this stuff all the time. I'd love to build something like this but holly cow the cost. I hope it runs well but I think it will be limited by RPM's as no one has really cracked the tuning software to get common rail diesels to turn faster than 6k. I also wonder if the blower will be enough air? It still is pretty dang sweet IMO.
oh it will get air . i think the PSI screw blowers are ugly were 1471 or 1671 are better looking its allbout power . as for parts .its very hard to tell who made the parts many times. with what base engine they used for bore spacing bearing size .i knew it was a hemi head :) as some did use the bore spacing of a 426and bbc are very close and many Big blower builds with the bbc engines will sometimes use the mopar rod bore size and wrist pin . custom cranks and pistons are the norm. any one with a big cnc machine and program can make just about any thing. when i was at the PRI show they had some cnc machines there it was one making a billet diesel head.i have been at Dart were they had billet blocks laying around like they were just 350s.a cast block in alumiun is around 6000. some of the billet blocks are past 8000
Yes sir. The billet stuff seems the way the big guys are going. I don't know if you guys have seen the diesel funny car John Robinson owns and Power Service sponsors, but his new engine has a billet aluminum block from Scheid diesel service. He did away with his funny car body and went with a half coupe alter body now. I saw on Power Service's site that they will be switching out from the funny car body and alter body from time to time. A lot of the mod diesel pullers are going with these aluminum blocks too. I know the billet steel blocks LSM was making were $12,000-$15,000 depending on options. The aluminum ones are $15,000 on Scheid's site.

yep when you say LSM that $$ i never used a billet block have one customer that wants one much like we all would. but he dumping much Nos per pass and cast aluminum block can walk around price tag for a billet bbc tall deck .tall cam tunnel big cam bore .big bore and big bore spacing i was told just a shade under 20000
Yeah, nothing cool and strong is cheap these days.
Well, it's alive!!!!! It sounds pretty sweet. Looks like it needs more air though. On FB he said they have no dyno numbers as the dyno won't handle it. This truck is supposed to be in Texas this week for the NHRDA world finals. I wish I could go watch it.

Kewl deal Ryan!!! Hope you stay up with the dudes and get us some track time videos, too!!!!!!!!!!!
One word. WOW!
Ryan, could you put me one like that in my toter for about $5K or so?????????
I forgot to report back to you guys but this truck made it to Texas in the begining of October from Canada. From what I saw, the guys broke a rocker arm during testing after the water box before a pass and that killed their run time. Plus, there were a couple of guys saying the engine only made 500hp on the dyno runs they made. I'm sure there will be adjustments and all kinds of things they need to get dialed in before getting it perfect. I did think it was really odd that that huge huffer couldn't clear up half of their fuel/smoke and the guys said they had it on a low fuel tune. Hopefully they can get it figured out before next season starts.
Here's an update on this truck. These guys have been working out bugs and I think they're getting really close on it. Here's a pass that isn't bad at all.

This isn't the same truck but it is an all billet monster duramax!

Only problem I have when you post those vids to youtube…. I start clicking other videos and never get anything else done! LOL..
Good Stuff.
Shoot, I was on there yesterday watching lights out 12 recaps because a couple of guys I used to race with have very deep pockets and are running with some of the top radial guys. It's pretty awesome to see. I'm glad they can afford to do it. I'll just have to keep watching from afar!!!!
