Sealed Power Piston Rings
I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times about gapping rings.
What I need to know is what gap to use for my first and second rings?
My rings are Sealed Power E251K 30.
The engine is a blown chevy 350. Low boost.
I have been told the top ring should be between .022 .024 and the second ring
.018 .022.
I'm not sure, so I thought I better check with you guys who have built many engines with blower setups.
Thanks. Jeri

Nice chart Denny
For normal street oem type stuff buils---------rule of thumb is .004 per inch of bore size-so usually .016 ( 4.00 bore ) to .018 ( up to 4.500)
Special pistons have unique heat flow paths and generally ring/ piston manufacture will have specific breakdown of gap ranges for usage of engine-----!~E--- A Nascar 9000+rpm will have different gap than a 2 kids in the back seat sedan/wagon
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
