Carburetor Line placement on 350 sbc

Hey here you can see in the thumbnails I have a very roughly put together 350/th350 in my 1980 chevy caprice. I point to the line port underneath the left front side of the holley carburetor, and point to a line on the left side of the block that connects to an aluminum hard line that travels past the distributor, onward down the bottom of the block and continues right over the transmission. My question is, is this line the pcv or the transmission fumes cleaner thing?? LOL which line goes in where. Additionally any tips are appreciated. i see you have a double pumper carb with the rear pump arm missing .. is that on purpose ?

no it wasnt on purpose i bought the car like this but im thinking about selling it it needs too much work, whats the rear pump arm for?

Bet it backfires pretty good if you bang all 4 barrels open!

yes it does but the headers are bad so its understandable, why wouldit backfire so much?

The missing pump arm (I think) goes to a second acceleration pump, it squirts a small stream of gas into the plenum when you stomp it; preventing the air fuel mix from going lean.

I believe it has one i may be incorrect. does it go on the rear passenger side of the carburetor?

You have impeccable photo editing skills, im only 19 but i dont even know how to do that xD. Its so nice having a Vets opinion. another question, i have a 50cc arm on the front, should i buy a 30cc for the back or a 50cc? Im assuming 50 is for the front 30 is for the rear?

did you sand blast the carb????

idk had it rebuilt by the best mechanic in my city, it use to be filthy leaked gas LOL

Ok, on the front, air horn it's called, there will be numbers. Go to Holley.com, and look up that carb, by the numbers. Then, there will be a parts list for that carb. You can then get the correct part you need.

Thanks for the info I'm going to look it up, also my mechanic put the average metal accelerator pump cam on my throttle in the first position. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-Nx5HEzvlY&t=323s According to this video, cams should be placed in the second position if the idle is higher (mine is around 900-1000 rpms) in order to make the pump kick in later in the rpms? I'm not sure if it would make a difference with the double pumper though.

And its a Holley 600 Double Pump & it says its suppose to have two 50cc

Also, I notice that it bogs down at lower RPM's, this could be partly because it doesnt have the second arm. Do you thin kit could be as a result of the accelerator pump size?

Unless a race application 50 cc pumps are not needed IMHO. If you had the best guy in your area rebuild the carb, I'd say he leaves a lot to be desired. If your spark plug wires say "Accell Super Stock" they are TOTAL junk and need to be replaced, I'd suggest Taylor spiral core.

with the engine OFF and the breather off open the throttle about 1/4 to 1/2 inch .. fuel should shoot from the squirter nozzle the instant you move the throttle .

I would guess the entire carb....assembled....ended up in a glass bead cabinet. Poor metering blocks full of little glass bb's....sigh.

50cc are installed on holley dominators...that should tell you their purpose. On a street car like this, a vacuum secondary carb would be ideal. Thinking 600cfm.

yeah the car is rough but do you think its worth a swap to c1500?

and yeah it has an accel distrib too lol whats a better distributor for a good price

Hard to beat a stock HEI.

There is a lot of hate toward accel products, but for the street, if it's working then it's probably fine.

I once replaced an accel dizzy on the prejudiced opinion of a local mechanic and it wasn't at all the problem. (Problem was a combination of stall speed, manifold, and carb size.)

Personally I like to keep an extra dizzy module in the glove box, regardless of what brand name the dizzy has.

My headers are loud asf i have a mild cam what would be a good gasket to buy, and would it be a lot more cost efficient to replace them myself?
