im sick to my stomach
i just spent the better part of 3 months cleaning up and installing a 305 chevy motor in my 80 grand prix....the engine compartment is a 100 pointer easy at shows....anyway i started the motor up and have been driving it for about 4 days now and i noticed a little smoke when i start it up...i know bad valve seals...ok i can live with that ill just check the oil more often and add when it needs it...well i noticed to day i like blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe and when i reved it upa cloud of blue smoke.........
im actully in shock...i took the motor out of a lowmilage car that was takin car of...i had sprayed some carb cleaner in it just perviously to noticing the smoke but i dont think its the cause....im sad...all the time and money wasted

I agree. If it hasn't run for 3+ months it may just need to loosen up a little."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.
"LIVE" your life like you could die tomorrow.

Maybe during the engine swap a bit of oil went down the exhaust pipe?Mike Casella

I agree, run it and things will loosen up again and start working.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
