I need to know how I can find out if my engine is a 350 or a 350 rocket. Can anyone out there help me?
I hope Im not wrong here, but I think the differance is Rocket was a 4 barrel.
There are those who would argue that the 4.0L Aurora engine is also a Rocket engine, as it chares the core design with the Olds 350 block. Personally, I think that it doesnt matter. All Oldsmobile V8s are great.

I think you'll find that the Aurora V-8 is a destroked North Star (Cadillac) engine. The Aurora was originally designed to be the Seville. Like the difference between the Chevy LS engine family and the older SBC, there is nothing in common on a "traditional" Olds V-8 and the Aurora. Now the newer 3.5L V-6 used in the Intrigue and now the Malibu is a direct decendent of the AuroraQuote:
