3.6 v6 in 99 Mustang, what can I do?
hello everyone, I'm new to the site, and thought some of you techies might lend me some wisdom... I bought a Crimson 99 mustang in july, and after two weeks, i realised everyone had one... So wanting to be different, I thought I'd make a few adjustments. After putting Blue street glow neons on, a buddy of mine said the blue didn't go well with the red of the car, I told him I'd sleep on it, and if I didn't like it in the morning I'd repaint the car. Needless to say, a set of Red neons mounted beside the blue ones was a cheaper route, and looked a bit shnazier, Not that a new paint job is out of the question. But it still wasen't enough, so I did some research and found a set of 110% bolt on lamborgini hinges, and I now have the best looking mustang in this area. I went on to put true dual exaust with flomaster mufflers, which increased the sound quite nicely. But again I'm not done, and not sure if I ever will be. (the nature of tinkering) so on to my question, what is the biggest baddest engine i can possibly fit under my hood? My cousin said I should go with a 302, because it fits, and the wiring harness connects the same... But everyone is doing that... Someone else told me I could extreamly rebuild a 302 to get a 396 stroker... But another buddy said the most I could get was a 346 out of it. My original pipe dream was to put a 427 super cobra jet under the hood, till some one said the only way I'd get that engine to go with that car was if I towed it from behind.... Does anyone have any ideas?think bigger, and flashy... then go bigger and even more flashy... Never ceace to change.
Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
