88 formula running hot?????

Just rebuilt my 305 for the second time........... Engine is running great only has 300 miles on it so I am still breaking it in. I am running a 180 thermostat......... Have the fan running all the time but for some reason the engine seems to wanna creep over 220 in traffic after she has been on the highway for 10 minutes. Just put in a new cooling fan motor. Has anyone had this problem. Is there a stronger turning fan motor out there? Also I have check my cooling fan circuit from the wire and if I ground the wire at the switch she comes on. I have gone through two different cooling fan switch's and neither have turned on the fan. I even went as far as cleaning the head where the switch is crewed in with a wire brush. But no difference.......
Any suggestions

Aluminum radiator, better water pump, twin electric fans, look through summit, any of the above will help if you dont have them already.

what is the advantage of the aluminum radiator. I originally had a 3 core aluminum. I had installed a 2 core brass job becuase thats all I could get at the time................. would a 3 core aluminum offer more cooling capacity

Did you put a NEW water pump on the motor? those older units are prone to overheat when they wear a little....Even a cheapy rebuilt isn't worth the hassle....

Its a new rebuilt water pump....... I am running a 180 thermastat. Just put in a new fan motor. Check out the cooling fan circuit and points to a bad fan switch in the block I went through two of them the last time and nothing. This time around I cleaned the threads with a wire brush and checked with a multimeter for a good ground. I also changeds out the radiator a while back was a 3 core aluminum. Parts store gave me a 2 core metal one. Is the 3 core aluminum a better unit????????
