Black smoke indicates a rich mixture whereas an intake gasket leak would create a lean mixture. So, if it is running rich, check the easy things first like, choke adjustment, float levels and fuel pump pressure. Then the power valve.Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

"black smoke comes out between the intake and the heads only on the right side". Fix the gasket LEAK first.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
