timing? want start.
just replaced heads on chevy 350 w/4B. set #1 to TDC, checked timing gears and chain, there are no tick marks or punches to help identify the cam position, the cam gear is fiber, my haynes book says that the dowl pin should be at the 9 O'clock position, with #1 at TDC, everything looked good so I did not mess with it, the engine was running before I pulled the heads, I set the distributer dead on #1 rotor, fires and tries to start but still nothing, even losened the hold down bolt and slowly adjusted befor and after,. I dont understand, what is going wrong.
When I was about six years old, a race car on a trailer went past our house. I thought it was the coolest thing I had EVER seen! And I haven’t been the same since. That was over fifty years ago. ...
