flathead and tranny help
I have a early 40's Flathead v8 that im rebuilding to drop in my model a. I heard there is some company out there that makes an adaptor plate so that a person can bolt a turbo 350 or 400 transmission behind a flathead? is this true? if so does anyone know who makes this adaptor? or where it can be purchased at?

Don't know about the 350 turbo, but Flat-o-matic makes an adapter for about $ 550.00 to use a C4 or AOD behind a flathead. Look at www.flat-o.com.

Not to hijack but these sites look like they only sell kits for 49-up flatheads.....what about the earlier models?"Life is all about ass...either you are covering it,
kicking it, hauling it, kissing it, or trying to get it."
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
