That flywheel is external balance. You should be able to see the square shaped counterweight on it. I don't think any 600 trucks came with a 428. I'd say a 391 possibly.

WHERE IS A GOOD PLACE TO LOOK FOR A FLYWHEEL THAT WILL WORK? WE are PUTTING THE ENGINE IN A 72 F100 THAT HAD A 390 IN IT. THE 390 FLYWHEEL IS SMALLER" 11 INCH CLUTCH COMPARED TO THE 13 INCH OF THE F600.

THE 390 FLYWHEEL IS INTERNALLY BALANCED THE MOTOR FROM THE F600 IS EXTERNALLY BALANCED, THE FRONT OF THE CRANK SHAFT IS 3/8 LARGER THAN THAT OF A 390. HAS ANY ONE DEALT WITH A FORD TRUCK MOTOR
Are you looking to identify the engine or swap a flywheel? You cannot use a internal balcnce flywheel on an external balance engine (and visa versa) without rebalancing the rotating assy. The FT forged crankshafts have the larger snout. It's either a 361 or 391 crank. Possibly an odd 389 even. These were forged steel cranks and the 391 cranks are worth a good penny. If your looking to identify the engine post the crank and rod numbers. Block and heads also. If it's a 391 FT engine the block might be pretty good and maybe a 4.13 bore candidate if wall core thickness checks out. G.
LOOKING TO SWAP ENGINES REPLACE THE TIRED 390 WITH THE FT ENGINE, I NEED TO KNOW IF THE ROTATING ASSYMBLY MUST BE REBALANCED TO USE ANOTHER FLYWHEEL EVEN IF IT IS EXTERNALLY BALANCED. THE FT CRANK'S FLYWHEEL WON'T FIT IN MY BELLHOUSING.

DON'T KNOW WHERE TO LOOK FOR THE BLOCK AND HEAD NO#S HEADS HAVE EXHAUST PASSAGE UNDER INTAKE OLD MOTOR HAD WATER GOING THROUGH THE CARB PLATE. THE FT FLYWHEEL HAS 188 TEETH "EX BAL" AND THE TRANS NEEDS THE MORE COMMON 184 TOOTH. WILL A 184 TOOTH EXTERNALLY BALANCED FLYWHEEL OFF OF A 428 WORK ON THIS FT CRANK

Even though the 428 and 391 are both externally balanced there is a difference and enough to cause a problem if they are just swapped. You can have your new flywheel balanced to match the old one. Any good shop should be able to do this. You can even have the 390 flywheel balanced to match if it's still good. I'm pretty sure that crank number is a 391. I'm not positive though. Are you sure it's a cast crank and not forged? That's the confusing part. G.
Oops.... I now see you wrote crank cast # and I thought you meant it was a cast crank LOL. Sorry... reading too fast. Are those rods C6AE-C?
And the head numbers should be between the center two spark plugs. The block casting number might be generic to other displacment blocks but it's on the right (pass) side of the block. It's also possible there is no block casting number at all so don't be to concerned if you don't find it.
