Whats a 1968 428-SCJ Worth?
Hi there everyone, I´m back.
The Galaxie has been sold and a 1959 Thunderbird has been bought, Yesterday actually. I was told that the engine was a 428, So i started looking at the numbers today.
Here´s an update on numbers, It´s a 1969 Engine, not 68, And looks to be a CJ, Sorry for the missunderstandning earlier.
Block is dated "9 J", As it´s still in the car, I cant get any other numbers out yet accept for an "E" stamped on the bottom.
The crank has "1UB" casted into it, But on another place there´s "IU" stamped into it!?
The rods say C6AE-E OR C6AE-D.
Distrubutor is an Autolite, with numbers DCTF - 121127 L , 0017, Vaccuum advance.
Heads say C80E - 6090 N, Dates are 9M18 and 0A6.
Intake C80E - 9425-C. (Says 9029 Under the Castnr, By the clock) Date?
Valvecovers are C9ZE 6583C. Including original PCV rubber, No rivets, It´s screws.
Carb is a Holley, says 33102 (Has more numbers, could not pull all now).
Aircleaner looks to be original.
Oilpan has a different shape than the last FE i had, A 63 390", Looks original.
Will have more numbers when the package is out of the car.. Just drove her in to the garage this friday, Engine is running and does not make strange noises.
The exhaust manifolds are a pair of beasts, I have pictures, will post later.
So, anyone?Last edited by AndersnsGalaxie; 09-09-2006 at 07:38 AM.
Nascar!
We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
