shoot a little oil in the low cylenders and see how much it pick them up. it should run ok like it is though. **)Quote:

The engines out and on an engine stand right now. Been trying to figur out how far I wanna go.
FE's don't usually wear the bores too bad. You can get by with rings in many cases. I guess it depends on how you plan to use it. The more performance you expect, the better it has to be. For stock output, on a daily driver that you want to run for a few years, rings and bearings and a valve job will smarten most 390's right up.
do a full build or leave it on the stand. Rings, bearings, ( pistons if the bores are too worn ) cam, lifters, chain, pump, at a minimum.
We are pretty good at spending other guys money. So have that plastic ready to go!!!! If this car is a keeper you might as well start with a rebuild and add some nice performance parts. Do it once and do it right.

LMAO@ the ready plastic. I figured the whole rebuild would be the way to go. And yes the cars a keeper.

Please no jokes about the color. I've been thru enough of that.
Looks like a keeper to me too.
i actually like the color..... i used to have a maverick grabber that color... was my first car.... bought it for $700 drove it for a year and then sold it for $800
if that is the orginal color there is nothing to pick at IMO. the whole car looks orginal from here cant beat that
