Anybody heard anything about any new FE blocks?
Well I have one sitting here next to me...what do you need to know? Both Genesis and Robert Pond make iron and aluminum 427 sideoiler blocks.

I actually got to see and touch one of the Genesis aluminum blocks, from what I saw they are absolutely first rate all the way. I guess if they're good enough for Mr. Shelby, they're good enough for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine is an Gen iron block from KCR. Keith did all the machine work and detail painting. I'm very pleased. They do require quite a bit of machine work and KC has built plenty of them and felt worth it to have them do the work. Mine is a 4.250" bore size. It's heavy too!!! 265 lbs or there abouts on the G lift-o-meter....LOL Waaay heavier than a oem block anyways.

If and when I ever get one, it will definitely be the aluminum block... Friend of mine in Minneapolis just picked his up when he was in Vegas for the NASCAR race. He stopped by here, it's a beauty!!! He hadn't decided who will be doing all the machine work, probably Tim Schwanke. He's done some of mine, nothing but first rate work!!!! Even though he's a chebbie guy!!!!!
Yea I couldn't swing the cash for aluminum. So got the iron. Plus I'm running iron heads. Either way you sure can't go wrong with them. They are real nice blocks. I'm shooting to have it in the car by summer so....fingers crossed. If I see any fall off the back of the delivery truck I'll send them your way. One funny thing...when Fed-Ex freight delivered the Genesis block from KCR it was in a Shelby aluminum block box. I figuered they just re used the Shelby box to pack mine is...as they did. But I would have gladly taken the Shelby block if there were a mix-up tho...:3dSMILE: Oh well....

Just wondering who is machining the castings?
Genesis did rough machine the blocks in house. I'm not certain if they are still doing this or sending them out. Then either the vendor you buy the blocks from or machine shop of your choice can final machine the block. Things like final bore size, align hone the mains, cam bearings and clearance work are done by the vendors shop or your shop. Some vendors had a price increase as of Dec...possibly all. So shop and compare prices.

Yup, last word I got from Genesis is that the the bores (cylinder and mains) are machined to the low number, then final hone is at the discretion of the builder to dial in the exact fit they want on the cylinders and main saddles....
Sounds like what I been hearing. But a new machine shop in michigan.
