Help With My 360 Fe
Guys I Need Help. I Bought What I Thought Was A 390 Fe. Sent It Off To The Machine Shop To Be Bored. The Bore Is 4.11 .060 Over. I Had The Rods Reconditioned And Had Speed Pro 390 Forged .060 Over Pistons With The 4 Valve Reliefs Hung On The Rods. I Assembled The Engine And Before I Put The Heads On I Checked The Stroke. The Stroke Is 3.50. The Way I Caculate 4.11 Stroke And A 3.50 Bore The Engine Comes Out To Be A 372.
The Engine Is Supposed To Be Out Of A 73 Ford Pickup. It Had A 2 Barrell Carb And Truck Exhaust Manifolds. The Only Numbers I Can Find On The Block Is A 6 Just Above The Oil Filter Mount. Did I Wind Up With A 360 And If So Will It Work Ok With The 390 Pistons? The Pistons Don't Come All The Way Up Flush With The Deck On The Block. I Had The Rods That Came With The Engine Reconditioned And Would Like To Leave Everything The Way It Is If Possiable.
If This Is A 360 Engine And I Put 390 Pistons In It Will They Work And About What Will My Compression Be With The Pistons Being Lower? They Are About 1/8 Of And Inch Lower Than The Deck. The Heads Are Ca8e-h
If It's A 360 And Everything Will Work I Don't Mind Because It'll Be Abracket Car Anyway.
I Have A 1963 390 Out Of A Galaxie. Can I Swap The Crank Out Ot It And Leave Everything Else Alone?
Thank You

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
