According to a post by FFR428 in another thread, the number is C1AE-6090-A.
"Those are 61-63 352/390 heads with 71.2-74.2 cc chambers."
C means 196--- decade, 1 makes it 1961. A means it's for full-size cars, Galaxies, etc. 6090 just means cylinder head.
So it's just a 352/390 head, nothing special.
thank you for the replies.
I traded for an engine professionaly built in Arkansas for 20k +.
how would I go about finding the builder? and maybe getting a build sheet.
Keith Craft Racing is in Ak. They lazer etch their name on some of the parts in the engines they build. Maybe start with them. I'm sure they keep records of the builds they do and for whom. What kind of engine is this for $20k?? 427...428? That's a pretty big chunk of change.
G.
I do not know, the man I got it from saw the actual build sheet but did not retain it. I do not know anything else about the engine. I'd love to get the specs on it somehow.
Well everything can be measured and checked.
but, but, I'd have to take it all apart, and it runs so fine!!;)
Well then be happy and enjoy it!
LOL....:3dSMILE:
turns out the engine was NOT what is was supposed to be. sold the car when the valves ate into the cyl head.
i believe we have a record .. 3 & 1/2 years between posts
that is pretty amazing. Especially with the original poster.
I still can't believe there was an engine worth $20k with 352/390 heads on it.
Obviously it WASN'T a 20 grand engine! He just thought it was.
Well at least he came back! LOL.. how many others never return to let us know what happened or if they resolved an issue?
