Put a deposit on a car that is a 390 with a 3 spd . The car was a original 4spd and i will be looking for one soon . Will there be a difference to change the trans out or are all attachments going to be the same .

Bobby, it all depends on what year it is. There were 1/2 year changes in the mid 60's that can definitely foul you up. What car, what year and what motor? For example I had a 65 Comet 271 horse Comet that according to the books should have been a toploader that was a factory (west coast car) T-10. A buddy had a 65 Galaxie with a 352 qnd 4spd he ordered new that also according to the books should have been a toploader that was a T-10, once again a west coast production.Quote:

Bobby, I think all you'll need there is the trans and a 4spd shifter. The 3 spd and 4spd toploaders in that year are the same length, etc, etc. At least if my memory hasn't totally turned into CRS.Quote:

www.4speedtoploaders.com David Kee's site has some good specs and info. He sells nice stuff if you can afford it. Nice score on the Stang. Bet it was a pretty penny being a 390 4sp car. 67-68 Fastbacks are my favs.
yeah i hear ya, west coast production cars are always weird, my San Jose plant 66 fastback says it should be sage green with a 6cyl and an auto with a 7.5" rear but its got a 65 shelby kcode 289 and t-56 and a 9" and shes painted cherry red.... i swear its original :LOL:Quote:

FFR thanks for the link , it is a great price actually once , less then a standard 289 fastback would run in this condition . 67 FB S code
thesals yeah i have spotted a few on craigslist but didnt need one then . Hope to spot one locally again it won't stay there long . they are a little short coming though . I am a 67 - 68 favorite
Well best of luck with it and post some pics in your gallery sometime. Sounds like a nice car!!
FFR it will be in a post all by its own soon . I will be going to Michigan to get it next week end . I still regret selling the 68 to finance the 31 A so a different one will come in to help . I actually like the 67 best and it matches my ebay again two67s2003 . I had the 67 FB and the 68 FB but i sold the 67 because the lower frame work being to far gone . I did buy this sight unseen but the fellow workers of the owner say its worth what i gave . 4K
