Requesting Info: Tuning Autolite 4100 Carb
I am trying to Tune my Carb, Just installed it in my 1962 Mercury Monterey S 55.
I have found an article online that fits the picture but gives no specifics on how to tune it. The article was in a Good magazine, and discussed tuning the carb by Pony Carb specialists. Its main purpose, as I read was to advertise Pony carbs tuning results, not how to.
Still it never explained Idle speed, Fuel mixture, or Choke adjustment I have a 390, with an Autolite 4100, just had the heads redone, new valves with hardened seats etc., I have installed Petronix electronic ignition in a rebuilt Distributor from Mac's auto parts.
Any info would be much appreciated, and no, I am not looking for comments on how lame I am. I already know I am CPU illiterate and have difficulties with Ford FE engines. (Who knew that the Right Bank was numbered 1-4?)
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
