410 engine
Found a totally trashed 55 ford convertible with a suprising 410 ford engine that once we flushed the old gas out, cleaned the plugs, cleaned the points and the 2 4 barrel rochester carbs that were on it, it fired right up. Don't know a thing on these engines(410). Did they have any weak points?Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

As I recall it's a 390 block with a 428 crank....Should be a nice torque engine and durable...Has floating wrist pins....Good find..

Hey Denny. Nice to see you back. Is the 410 a 390 block that's stroked or did Ford make a seperate 410 engineKeep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I did some research on this engine. It was used on Mercurys for 2 years 1966 and 67. It has the same bore as the 390 4.05 but the stroke from the 428's 3.96 with a compression of 10.5:1. I'm selling it to a engine builder for his 34 ford coupe.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

I would be interested in the trashed 55 for parts if you are not going to use it. Jeff

We managed to get a couple of other small things taken care of. One was blacking out the front of the core support. When the sun hit the front of the car just right that green paint on the core...
