66 390 GT distributor
Hi i am a owner of a 66 Comet Cyclone GT car i just bought it and i going to restore it the first thing i did is went through the id and numbers and some parts disnt match such as the Distributor this one the id is C7TF 12127 THE INTERCHANGE MANUL says the id should be c60z12127 or c60f12127 and it also says that the standered and auto distributor are different and a non GT distributor will not have the power range and performance, andwill greatly suffer. Can anyone give me some info on what distributor that i have ? as this car was a 4 speed and now it will be a auto? i will need alot of info on building this engine as i have never built a fe 390 big block
Thanks from 66cyclone

C7 is 1967, the "T" says it's a truck dist., totally wrong for your application, but you can rework the advance and have it work.

We are playing with our first 390 too, very different engines than what we are used to. From all indicators pretty good ones though. Sounds like you are trying to keep this one factory original? If not, do yourself a favor and put a modern electronic aftermarket distributor in there. Your engine will thank you for it in all respects.
