i use to own a 1961 starliner 2-door hdtp with the 401 hp 390 in it was the only 390 i've ever owned that ran like there was not tomorrow.there was a lot of chevys still trying to figure out what hit them. and will waste any 390 gt. it was an opt in 1961 and 1962,came with 3x2,cast iron headers,mech.cam.and a hd 3-speed manual trans. no 4-speeds until 1962 its a hard to findengine but you can build one youself just get the factory specs, the 61-63 t-birds also had a 390 with 3x2 but it was a tamer version, it was an m-code t-bird but had auto trans.i quest they had to use up the 3x2 intakes that they made for the 406.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
